What to do in Skopelos
..if you are on honeymoon/on a first holiday with your partner
honeymoon in skopelosSkopelos' natural romantic nature means that you won't have to make big gestures to make every moment of your honeymoon or special first holiday together memorable. Some simple ideas for enhancing your stay are: packing a picnic lunch and a cool box, renting a little motor boat and heading off for the whole day to find a cove where you will be all alone; booking a spa treatment together at one of the island's premier hotels; combining a stunning sunset with a chilled bottle of champagne (don't forget the glasses) - the best sunsets are to be experienced on the south-west coast, towards Glossa, with views over to Skiathos and beyond.

..if you are the outdoor type
Skopelos for the outdoor type
For outdoor-lovers, Skopelos really hits the spot as the combination of a lovely climate and superb, pristine nature will mean that you are simply spoilt for choice. Hikers and walkers will be in their element here, although they should avoid the mid summer months of July and August as the heat makes walking any later than 8 or 9am and before 8 pm just too exhausting (or even downright dangerous).

..if you are single
single in SkopelosIf you are single and hoping to meet new people whilst you are on holiday, then you might want to make sure you visit in high season when there are more like-minded people around as low season is more popular with older couples. In July and August the sultry nights are great for dancing the nights away in the friendly and fun bars and clubs of Skopelos town. Popular night spots, in no particular order, are La Costa bar, Dokos, Bardon, Mercurios and Oinos (the Blue Bar).

..if you are on a careful budget
There are plenty of ways for those on a tight budget to have a fantastic stay on the island. You have a superb selection of beaches - endless hours of soaking up the sun and cooling off in the type of crystal seas you would usually associate with more exotic and far-flung places and all completely free of charge! To get to these beaches, you don't need your own transport - using the island bus to get around means that not only will you save Euros, but that you get to sit back and relax as you enjoy the scenery instead of having to focus on the road. If you do want to hire a car, why not use the bus service first to find your way around and then book a car for a day to get into the interior of the island and to the beaches not serviced by the bus.
